DieEnergiekoppler GmbH, a spin-off from the Technical University of Dresden, specializes in software-as-a-service and offers unique technologies for the optimal control of decentralized energy systems and systems for the use of renewable energies.

The company addresses the challenges of conventional networking technologies, in particular virtual power plants, and focuses on increasing the economic efficiency of the integration of smaller energy systems.

The pioneering Flexibilitätswerk technology enables the cost-effective integration of photovoltaic systems, battery storage systems, fuel cells, heat pumps and other energy generation or energy storage systems. This innovation ensures a secure supply of electricity and heat in independent regional energy communities, taking electromobility into account.

The highly automated flexibility systems enable energy suppliers, municipal utilities, energy communities, marketers and system operators not only to monitor the systems, but also to actively control them. This is done fully automatically and enables regional energy balancing or exchange price optimization for additional revenue potential in energy trading – regardless of the size of the system.

Since its foundation in 2018 with the help of EXIST research transfer funding from the Bundesministeriums für Wirtschaft (BMWi) DieEnergiekoppler has reached important milestones, including participation in the SpinLab Accelerator program, securing financing from the German energy supply company LEAG and the Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen (TGFS) and a successful Series A financing round in November 2023 with the participation of LEAG, TGFS and ElectroFleet.
